With a Twist...

Sumati: I recently purchased this amazing Nun Bangkok dress (via Pomelo Fashion) and I couldn't wait to show it off for a day of lunch and shopping. The dress is already cool in itself with the unique black & white contrast and subtle mesh details, but I decided to add my own twist to it. Maybe I had seen too many festival-inspired outfits from events like Coachella, and subconsciously that's why I paired it with these ankle boots from (un) Fashion Vintage and the trail of bindis up my forehead. But hey, I'm Indian anyway, so I've got a cultural excuse to leave the house with facial decorations!

Tara: For work the other day I paired this American Apparel denim pencil skirt with a chiffon shirt from Pomelo (still in stock!). The shirt looks feminine even though it's loose and the classic stripe pattern is menswear inspired. Denim gets a bad rap for being a no-go at work but I think it can look put-together and sophisticated enough for the office (if your company is ok with it, of course). Could have been done there, but to make it a bit quirky I added some pastel socks to my shoe situation.

Diane: Although I feel most comfortable in loose flowy boho clothing or yoga gear, I do like to switch it up with something a little more form fitting when it comes to evening events.  All women's bodies are beautiful and we should feel good about the curves and shapes our mamas gave us!  I went to my friend's wedding that night and wore a dress from Zalora, necklace from Tom Dick & Harry (at Terminal 21) and Shoes from H&M.

Fash Mash Favorites

True love is finding a piece so versatile you want to wear it with everything. Ok, so after a few weeks you might move on to your next true love but that's the thrill of the chase. Here's a look at some pieces we Fash Mashers love wearing again and again... Can you guess which item in each look is on steady rotation?

Tara: A few of my current faves on rotation are... Blazer from Greyscale, thrifted Dickie's overalls from the Train Market and CPS crop top.

Sumati: True love is adding a pop of color with these red vintage flared pants from The Trapeze Swingers Store paired with my favorite basics - Zara tank and Steve Madden flats.

Diane: So it seems my Converse and Dress Bistro Skort has been on rotation for a lot of my ootds.  I wore it with a  Yourcharacter lace top, Bag from Girlhoodshop (Instagram shop), Bracelets stolen from my mama, Sunnies from N Joy Shop

Happy 4 Month-eversary To Us!

Four months into this blog, we thought we would take a moment to reflect and share why we decided to start this style showcase in the first place.

We knew we always wanted to do something with each other being the besties that we are, and we all share a love for fashion (which we think is better than sharing boyfriends!). Personally, this blog allows us to display our individuality through what we find in our closet - even though most of the time we have "nothing to wear".

If you break it down, basically we are documenting the fact that we have mastered the ability to get dressed in the morning! Yay us!

Jokes aside, this is our modern-day diary, except we are sharing it with you in the hopes that it inspires you in some way.

Furthermore, we are also hoping to bring something different to the Bangkok fashion scene.

Or at the very least, we'll bring you a different kind of fashion blogger pose than you're used to seeing as demonstrated by Diane...

Diane: I had a whole Sunday planned, but alas I got sick with a nasty cold which came over me like an ice bucket being poured over my head.  So I ended up wearing this top from Liberty Love, shorts from New Look, shoes from Siam Square, sunglasses from N Joy Shop outfit lounging around and awkwardly posing...hehe.

Sumati: Growing up in BKK, we have seen the industry change in a way that we really believe is on par with the fashion cities of the world. We've got all the usual designer labels, but we also have individuals curating awesome pieces, such as this velvet dress I picked up at one of my favorite vintage shops, Penney On Her Vintage. Seriously, you've never lived unless you've felt the sweet, sweet embrace of velvet. I wore it to a friend's wedding, paired with my Charles & Keith heels, which are the only shoes I can dance around in all night without my feet feeling like they're gonna fall off!

Tara: I'm probably looking pensive because these photos were taken on my birthday. I'm still a year away from 30 but birthdays always make me feel introspective and, frankly, a bit neurotic.

Tara: Four months of style blogging and I think I can safely say I've mastered the looking down pose. Here I'm wearing a hand embroidered vintage t-shirt by Penney on her Vintage (thanks for the birthday pressie Sumati!) with my new favorite blazer by Greyscale, Uniqlo flared jeans and Schutz shoes.
